These is nothing better than a nice, delicious slice of hot, cheesy pizza. Oh, wait there is something better. Two hot slices of delicious, cheesy pizza.Yum yum! And how do you like your pizza? Extra cheesy? How about with pepperoni slices? Are you an extra sauce fan? Are you a thin crust kind of guy or gal? Or do you like a nice, big fluffy, doughy crust? Is it just us or is your mouth watering?

Unless you eat your pizza like a wonderful weirdo, the crust is the last few bites of a nice slice of pizza. It’s the pot of gold at the end of the rainbow in a way, isn’t it? Some people love crust so much that they will even eat their friend’s crusts. You know that you’ve done the, “Are you going to eat that?” at least a few times in your life. We are not judging. We get it.

And what it is about the crust that makes it so amazing? You would think that the crust is just a glorified bread stick but it is so much more than that!

Sorry, bread sticks. We love you too, but pizza crust. Mmmmmm. There is just something about pizza crust that makes it special.

It’s doughy and crunchy and baked to delicious goodness. And pizza crust made in a wood fire oven? Forget it! Done!

And if you are a crust crusher like us, we have a crazy news for you. ARE YOU READY!?!?

The chain restaurant Villa Italian Kitchen is now selling just pizza crusts on their menu.

Yup, that’s right. You can skip the pizza and get right to the point.

Its new menu item, “Just the Crusts,” has been available since July 18. Hey, are you still reading this or did leave to try some for yourself?

The Pizza-Kini

And this is not Villa Italian Kitchen’s first rodeo when it comes to a  piping hot gimmick!

In 2017, they were responsible for inventing and promoting the $10,000 pizza bikini. Looking good!

They collaborated with food stylist Jessie Bearden to create the “mouthwatering” Pizza-Kini in honor of National Bikini Day on July 5, 2017. So cheesy!

Pizza Wear

“Now you can wear your favorite pizza!” the company said in a post on Facebook, as if that was a thing people really needed in their lives.

They continued, “For just $10,000, we’ll set you up with our food stylist and help you get fitted for your own suit made from only the freshest ingredients, including homemade, hand-braided dough, 100-percent whole milk mozzarella cheese, sauce made from fresh California tomatoes and delicious pepperoni – all in honor of #NationalBikiniDay.”

Have you ever wanted your very own Pizza-Kini?

Thanks But No Thanks

Don’t you want to wear messy cheese that close to your lady bits? Do you want to smell like cheese and meat?

No? And we can only imagine that you will not be able to swim in the Pizza-Kini so yeah, this sounds like a disaster. Sorry, but it does.

And while $10,000 sounds like a steal, we’ll pass! Maybe some other time, but no thanks!

A Gender Reveal Lasagna

Do we think anyone actually bought a Pizza-Kini? Probably not but it certainly got our attention didn’t it? Job well done.

They are also responsible for their gender reveal lasagna meal that came out earlier this year.

And yes, you guessed it. The lasagna comes filled with pink or blue dyed cheese depending on the gender. Sounds delish!

For Your Next Gender Reveal

The $140 meal includes food for 12 people with rolls, salad and a cheese lasagna that comes stuffed with your choice of cheese that is dyed either pink or blue.

Alright let’s get back to something much more important. Pizza crust.

Controversial Crusts

Because they like to make a splash, it is no surprise that Villa Italian Kitchen is at it again.

And this time they are making waves with something so controversial and so polarizing. Pizza crusts.

The new item comes in a deceptively pizza-shaped box. You think you are getting a slice of pizza and bam! Just crust with a tiny bit of sauce brushed on and cheese baked in.

What The Crust

Then when you open the box, you’ll find six pieces of just pizza crust inside. That is it.  Crust and only crust.

It’s what an Instagram post from the restaurant calls “everyone’s favorite part of the pizza.”

We are sure some of you would disagree with this controversial statement, while others couldn’t agree more. Where do you fit in, in this equation?

Try For Yourself

And again, these are not breadsticks, so don’t call them that. They are crusts.

What’s the difference, you ask? We are not really sure.

But if you’d like to try and figure it out for yourself, Villa Italian Kitchen, which specializes in Neapolitan and pan pizzas, is selling the new “Just the Crust” for just $2.75.

And you may be wondering why? How? Who? And again why? So, we will break it down for you, pizza piece by pizza piece.

Mimi Wunderlich, director of communications and digital market for Villa Italian Kitchen, said in a press release, “We are huge pizza crust fans at Villa Italian Kitchen.”

No, really? You are the first restaurant to go viral selling just the crusts so that is a bit of an understatement, don’t you think?

A Fan Favorite

“We know that the crust is everyone’s favorite part of the pizza, so skipping straight to selling pizza crusts only seemed like the perfect idea.”

And while we know that the crusts are not everyone’s favorite part of the pizza, you can’t deny that it is a fan favorite.

The company said that over the years they have been asked lots of questions about its signature crust and how it’s made.

Offering It A La Carte

Since customers seem to enjoy their crust so much, Villa Italian Kitchen decided to offer it a la carte.

The homemade dough is made fresh every day and allowed to rest prior to being used in pizzas, according to Wunderlich.

The chain also uses 100% whole milk mozzarella, as well as fresh, California-grown tomatoes. It is shaped into a spiral and baked before it is cut into pieces and served to happy customers.

Nobody Is Perfect

And for those of you out there who don’t eat any pizza crusts at all, we will leave you with this.

We see you. We hear you. We acknowledge you. We accept you. And while we don’t really understand why you wouldn’t eat a very delicious piece of crust, we still love you.
